November TBR!

It’s that time of the month again when we readers are to set our monthly to-be-read pile. I stick with my TBR last month so I am doing a tbr list again this month.

So if you want to see what I am planning to read for the month of November, then just keep scrolling 😊

Okay, in NO particular order, I am planning to read:

qosQueen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. This is the fourth book in the amazeballs Throne of Glass series, if you didn’t enjoy TOG, ignore it, grab the next books and you will not regret it! Here’s the short synopsis for QoS (TOG non readers don’t read, may contain spoilers)

The queen has returned.

Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past…

She has embraced her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, she must fight.

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die for her. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.

The fourth volume in the New York Times bestselling series contrinues Celaena’s epic journey and builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

line_divider_by_loquacioussprite-d7s4ez1I’m also planning to dive into Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I am actually quite half heartedsoc about this because I have not read (and do not have yet) Bardugo’s Grisha trilogy, but other readers were telling me that it isn’t necessary so I might as well go into it now. I’ve heard a lot of great reviews about this one so let’s see what the fuss is all about. I love the cover and the maps inside! Here’s a blurb:

Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price—and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone…

A convict with a thirst for revenge.

A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager.

A runaway with a privileged past.

A spy known as the Wraith.

A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums.

A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes.

Six dangerous outcasts. One impossible heist. Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first.

line_divider_by_loquacioussprite-d7s4ez1hp opAnd of course after my hang over last month on books 3 and 4, I cannot afford not to read book 5! Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling. I have high expectations on this one because the third and fourth book left me in awe. I just can’t… So yeah, this is the thickest book out of the seven so let’s see how long it will take me to finish it, being the slow reader that I am 😂

Harry Potter is due to start his fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. His best friends Ron and Hermione have been very secretive all summer and he is desperate to get back to school and find out what has been going on. However, what Harry discovers is far more devastating than he could ever have expected…

Suspense, secrets and thrilling action from the pen of J.K. Rowling ensure an electrifying adventure that is impossible to put down.

line_divider_by_loquacioussprite-d7s4ez1For work reads, I have two this month. I was given copies of these books in exchange for an they all fall downhonest review. The first one is They All Fall Down by A.K. Mason.  Anna is an indie published author and They All Fall Down is her first novel, here’s the synopsis:

For her entire life, Alexandra Kramer has been checking a series of boxes. Trapped by the expectations of everyone else around her, she’s made good grades, married the right guy, and secured a place at the prestigious Harvard Business School.

But in the chaos of the 2008 financial crisis, Alex suddenly finds herself running into the fire, instead of seeking a safe haven from the flames. Ditching her Ivy League plans, she becomes dedicated to showing she has what it takes in the high-stakes, fast-paced boys’ club of Wall Street trading, as she forges her own path for the first time in her life.

As these volatile changes drive her husband Jamie into his own crisis, Alex is forced to examine the choices she’s made—as she’s torn between her traditional role as wife, and the exciting, Wild West appeal of the trading floor.

When her two worlds suddenly collide, it becomes clear the institutions she once believed in so strongly are more flawed than she ever imagined—and when everything comes crumbling down, it’s up to Alex to decide for herself what’s worthy of putting back together.

line_divider_by_loquacioussprite-d7s4ez1once upon a zombieAnd last but definitely not the least on my work reads this month is the gorgeous Once Upon a Zombie by Billy Phillips and Jenny Nissenson. I was given a hardback, signed (personalized with my freaking name on it!) and it was unbelievably beautiful! AND of course if it’s got something to do with Alice or Wonderland, well I love it! Here’s a blurb:

Unexplainablenews.com is reporting strange phenomena in cemeteries in Scotland, Germany, Italy, and America. Only one individual knows what’s happening – and why! This person also knows the one girl who can prevent an unspeakable and imminent catastrophe from taking place. But will she? When Caitlin Fletcher’s mom disappeared (or left?) four years ago, Caitlin began suffering from breathless bouts of anxiety. Her new move to London, with her Dad and her brainiac sister, threatens to lead to more situations that will trigger panic. Now, she’s having anxiety over the possibility of having anxiety! Caitlin’s life takes a turn for the bizarre when she’s tricked into climbing down a “rabbit hole”, landing in a wondrous fairy tale universe – except it’s crawling with savage, starving blood-eyed zombies. But what’s scarier – a blood thirsty zombie, a panic attack….or the painful truth?!
