Weekly Journal Spread (February 20 – 26)

Hello there guys! I didn’t forget it – I just haven’t got enough time to post it, but here it is, my spread from last week’s journal. 🙂

We seem so ancient, lol – but it felt like just yesterday when we first met. Haha. We celebrated our 104th month on the 21st which happens to be his dad’s 62nd birthday too so we didn’t really spent the day on a “date”. We spent it with his family ❤

Me and my boyfriend, we love to eat. So when we stumbled upon a Facebook post that says “newly opened food park” we drove off real quick. HAHA. Of course the first thing we tried was Ramen. There are still a LOT of food stalls there though that we haven’t tried out so we’re definitely coming back 😀

I haven’t seen this two for like such a long time (they were both my high school close friends) so when they told me they wanted to meet me to talk about their broken hearts (lol) well, I agreed – uhm more like they FORCED me too. Hahaha. I had prior commitments that day but they were so good at bugging my conscience, and yeah I missed them lots too! We watched a movie called “I’m Drunk, I Love You” and then went to Starbucks to drown ourselves in coffee and heart to heart talks 😀 ❤divider2

And that is it for a little glimpse of my life last week. Hope you had an amazing week!

Talk to you soon!

Weekly Journal Spread (February 13 – 19)

Hello guys! Another one of my journal spreads – I hope you’re not tired of it yet. It does seem a little personal since you get to see a “little” of me but I enjoy sharing it with you guys so… let’s get to it!

Haha what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than to eat Ramen! Lol. We also went on a “Bookstore Date” as I call it, lol. We went to I think 5 bookstores, and I only bought one poetry book – well HE bought it. Hehe, he insists so who am I to resist. But let’s go back to ramen talk, seriously, if you are here in the Philippines and haven’t tried yet Hanamaruken Ramen YOU ARE MISSING HALF OF YOUR LIFE. Go there now! My personal favorite is Spareribs ramen and if you’re not a big noodle eater then try the Drunkman Rice Bowl. So YUMMMMMMY! (This is not sponsored, whattheheck – it just sound like it but no :D)

Sundays are walk days – I just imposed it, haha. We took Gidget to a freaking 4km walk and I. am. exhausted – and injured, lol. But she was such a good girl, always looking after me. When bf is trying to walk her when I’m already too tired to keep up, she’ll look at me from behind and wait for me – such a sweetie, she really loves me. Haha. People are terrified of her though, can’t blame them, she really looks intimidating. Not even a year old (only 7 months) and she’s already so big. Love her! ❤ (oh, if you’re wondering, she’s a Black German Shepherd).divider2

That is it! Hope you all had an amazing week! Lovelots!

Talk to you soon!

I am freaking obsessed with Jon Snow. 😍

Well at least something exciting did happened this week, haha. Escaping my boring life and in to the mountain! Check out my adventure blog heredivider2

I may have ran out of tips to share so I will now just be sharing the highlight of this week. Some of them are:

So I sort of hosted a read-along on my Instagram of Sherlock novels and our first read is A Study in Scarlet (which I still haven’t reviewed – I will soon!)

My books from Book of the Month club for February arrived and I am sooooo excited to dive into all of them!

We spent our weekend south at Tagaytay and it was amazing! Missed fresh air! ❤

And that is it! Talk to you soon for my next journal spread ❤

Weekly Journal Spread (Jan. 23 – Jan. 29)

Updates on your journaling? Have you been doing it too? Isn’t it fun going back through your posts and seeing everything that has happened – sometimes it feels like a lifetime ago, other times it feels like it was just yesterday. The magic of writing down memories – whether it’s a good or a bad one, it happened and you’ve learned from it either way ❤

I thought I’d share another tip for journaling:

  • Give TITLES to your day. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just something that highlights your day –  and you don’t have to do this everyday either, just on dates that you feel doing so.
  • Write QUOTES. This has always been a journal saver for me. There are times that I’m in a journaling slump and nothing in the entire day eve mattered so I just write a quote or bible passage instead. I do write at least something that still made sense in relation to how my day went.. 🙂

Until next spread! Talk to you soon!

Weekly Journal Spread (Jan. 16 – Jan. 22)

So last night (or this morning), while I’m trying to sleep because I’m insomniac af and reading comments on my Instagram, I noticed that some of you really like my journal and some are even requesting to see them up close. Funny thing is there’s nothing interesting about the things I write there though, just a couple of random stuffs I feel like journaling. I don’t do fancy bullet journaling and stuffs like that – I’m too random and messy for the likes of those. I mean I want to try but I guess now isn’t the right time just yet, cause my life is a mess. Kidding.😜

So let’s get into it shall we?

divider4materialsthumb_ppoo2094_1024 My journal was sent to me by the good guys from Klevercase. Loving it so so sooooo much! It’s Harry Potter inspired so why not?! I like how the pages are thick and it won’t leave any trace for the back page no matter how hard I write. Just love it!

And of course you need pens! Contrary to my colorful Journaling in the past, I am now opting for cleaner pages so I’m only using black normal pens here – let’s see how long i’ll keep this going. LOL.

Pens: Pilot Fine ballpen and Uni Pin 02 Fine Line in Pigment Ink.

I know I should’ve started from the first week of the month but my Journal isn’t complete on those parts and I don’t want to be showing you incomplete spreads because DUH what’s the point?!😅

So here’s the spread from January 16th until the 22nd!

***BEWARE of GOT spoiler if you haven’t watched the show or read the book***

  • Try LETTERING! It will legit add character to an otherwise normal journal entries. It doesn’t have to be perfect, go to the internet and copy fonts that you like and start from there. 🙂
  • DRAW a little. I’m no draw-er (lol) but It try once every few entries just so that there is something a little more visual than my letters.
  • Use BORDERS! I looooove drawing borders, it does highlight parts of a certain day and is also really pretty to look at.

And that is it! Give this post some love and comments if you want me to keep posting these kind of stuffs!

Talk to you soon!

How I Edit My Instagram Photos (Update)

You asked for it and I love you guys, so here it is! This is How I edit my Instagram Photos version 2.o! 😄

If you haven’t seen yet, I have already made a blog post like this last year and a lot of my tips and tricks haven’t changed so you might as well check that out first before diving in to this one. Here’s the link.

My tips there in Instagramming in general from taking photos, proper lighting, to photo types are all still valid and I still practice up to this day so take note of those pointers alright.

My theme though has changed over the course of time and right now, I can say that I am really happy with my current feed *pat my own back*

I am now going for a warm, earth-toned, vintage-y photos and it took me quite a while to be contented with the theme I want, but here I am so hooray! 😛

Now, let’s get going with the bloody detail of how I edit my pictures, shall we?

Here’s an update to the apps I’ve been currently using:

I mainly use VSCO for editing my photos, this is where I get my filters.

From my last blog about editing IG Photos, I told you I was also using the app called Phonto, that one was mainly for watermarking my photos which I don’t do anymore.

Additional apps that you see here are Filterloop – which I use for overlays sometimes;

Snapseed and Lightroom for fixing inconsistencies in photos like lighting, dark spots, over-exposure, etc.

Touch Blur for blurring out parts that I don’t want to show in my photos (like personal entries on my journal, etc.)

I’m telling you again if you haven’t, to check my last blog about editing photos because quite the same process remained the same. Check it out here. (I have a legit tip on natural lighting there and things that will add character to your photos).

I use VSCO for filters and nothing more, and these are the filters that I am currently using:

Fact is, I don’t really use a single filter in all my instagramming years. I always consider the lighting of the photo if a certain filter would look good on it or not. But these two series in VSCO are the ones I use most of the time – it’s the Aesthetic and Moody series. The Aesthetic I believe is free for download in the app, the Moody however I think I paid for it 😀

As you may have seen on my feed right now, I am going for a shadowy, warm and cozy vibes, so I don’t actually just rely on the filters itself, I also adjust the Exposure, Contrast and Temperature in VSCO settings per picture. I adjust all of these things according to my liking and test if it will look good on my feed, then go back again if not.

filterloopA lot of people are asking me this, “what is that snowy thing on your photos”, “what are those white dust I see there”, etc. I’ve seen a lot of accounts doing this already but if you still didn’t know yet, you could use the app called Filterloop for this.

Just import your photo and go to Textures then click Dust – you’ll see different options there that you can choose from.

I sometimes use Adobe Photoshop for overlays if I’m not feeling lazy though.

Editing of photos doesn’t stop there though. Sometimes, lighting is not on my side so I use Snapseed to fix any inconsistencies and flaws that I see in my photos.

The app has a Selective tool to adjust a portion of your photos’ Brightness, Contrast and Saturation.

It also comes with a Brush that edits the Exposure, Temperature and Saturation of your photo.

Love this app (not a promotion, lol).

divider2bonusHere’s a bonus tip for you guys! I’ve been using an app that let’s me plan out my feed for the entire day – or even week (if you have taken quite a lot of pictures). I’ve got 2 recommendations for you, either use an app called Preview or Unum (both are free I think in the App store). It both works well and have the same purpose. I also recently discovered an app called Planoly which pretty much does the same only, it also schedules your post – I might as well give that app a try. preview

I personally use Preview (because I downloaded it first, lol) and satisfied with it to be honest. You can “upload” pictures in it and drag photos to change their position – and it looks just like an Instagram feed so you can kinda see if a photo will blend well with the rest of your pre-uploaded pictures. It looks like this (really just like an IG feed):

As I always do, here I am to remind you that your account is YOUR feed so you do what makes you happy BUT….but, please, always be YOU. We have seen a lot of blatant copying in Instagram (not to mention outright stealing) that it honestly makes me sad because people who have passion in what they do only to be literally copied, will feel disrespected. I have no problems in sharing what I know and what I do but I also want to see people create a content they could call their own 🙂 I’m glad I inspire people and that they sought for my advise and I appreciate it, but sometimes, other people just do not know when they’ve already crossed the line.

So, in EVERYTHING that you do, always put your heart in it and it will reflect who you are. ❤

It took me years of countless changing of themes and filters, experimenting on pictures, looking for inspirations, combining pegs and all that – until I came to this. I suggest you do the same. 🙂

And that is it! I hope you learned something again from this post, let me know what you’d like to see next!

Talk to you soon!
